1. Promote basic research on the neuromuscular mechanisms underlying human movement
2. Develop exercise programs in order to prevent or assist in restoration of human motor function.
3. To contribute to improvement of quality of life in modern society

Location
The Department of PE & Sport Science is situated at the Northern part of the city of Serres called Agios Ioannis. The closest airport to the city is the Macedonia Airport outside the city of Thessaloniki. Upon arrival at the airport, you can take the bus from the Macedonia Airport either to the main train station or the “Macedonia” central bus station and then take the coach to Serres.Once arriving at the city of Serres, the Department is located approximately 10 minutes drive from the city center. There is public service or use a taxi to reach it.
If you drive from Thessaloniki to Serres, take the ring road of Serres, approximately 5 Km before entering the city. Going straight ahead, you will pass 4-5 traffic lights, and reach at the end of this ring road. On your left side, you should see the hospital of Serres and main traffic lights in front of you. On the traffic lights go straight, on a small road. At the end of small road, turn left and you will see the Department’s main building (located 200 m away)
